Pre-Sales Technical Consultant (Video)
Location: Commutable distance to Winchester / London with a view to being onsite once a week
The Pre-Sales Consultant, reporting into the Pre-Sales Manager, will provide specialist technical input into bid proposals, projects and technical documents, and identify opportunities to support existing customers
As an expert in your area, you will have significant experience of working within the Broadcast industry, with the ability to produce innovative designs and cost-effective solutions. You will have experience of working in collaboration with sales, technical, engineering and operational teams to bring solutions to life. Confidence working directly with customers is critical for this role.
Total Package
- Up to £75k base salary

The role
- Provide specialist technical input into bid proposals, projects and technical documents, and identify opportunities to support existing customers
- Collaborate with customers and sales teams to understand their requirements, and develop and recommend cost effective solutions which meet or exceed expectations
- Provide technical leadership within the team, sharing knowledge and skills, and providing supervision, guidance and mentoring as required to engineers, technicians and internal and external customers
- Understand the market position of key customers and competitors and use market intelligence to provide input into key strategic projects
- Engage with product teams to develop and recommend products and services to meet customers' requirements and develop business
- Ensure design work complies with relevant technical standards and best practices guidelines within the team
The person
- Technical experience in the following technologies and their application within the Broadcast and Video Media environments: Video compression systems, Digital TV standards, IP and fibre Networks, Playout, VOD, Streaming optimisation and IP Security
- Track record of preparing solution architecture designs and costs to meet customers’ requirements
- Experience of creating and presenting proposals to technical and non-technical audiences with the ability to influence key stakeholders and customers
- The ability to lead people, tasks and resources promoting standardisation and design governance with evidence of driving continuous improvement
- Experience in satellite datacomms
- Demonstrate you actively research emerging technology and keep yourself up to date with market and technology trends
- Technical knowledge & understanding of Playout, OTT solutions architecture and product definition
- Knowledge of market and technological trends such as Cloud hosted environments
