Senior Engineer – Supply Chain
Location: Daventry
- Up to £57K base salary
- 10% bonus
- Overtime
- 5% pension contribution

Key responsibilities / the role
- Technical Leader for the team around evaluating, diagnosing, repairing and configuring a broad range of highly specialised and niche electronic and mechanical broadcast/telecommunication equipment where it is not possible to be supported through 3rd party suppliers.
- Lead in depth technical investigations to identify root cause and resolve problems with equipment performance.
- Accountable for setting and leading technical standards across the team.
- Accountable for the build/maintenance of test beds and broadcast/timing signals in the workshop environment.
- Act as point of contact for new Broadcast or Networked work-streams or support requirements within the team.
- Accountable for the precise and exact quality of works from internal and external repairs which meet demanding and precise equipment specifications and or customer expectations.
- Technical lead within team for positively engaging with suppliers/manufacturers on technical issues and attending technical/service review meetings.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining positive internal stakeholder relationships with other groups internally within Arqiva.
- Accountable for leading and exhibiting company cultural values, aligning with department expectations.
- Pro-actively monitor stock levels, strive to minimise back-orders and maximise stock levels in line within/max levels. Support and encourage technical team to achieve these same goals.
- Accountable for efficient repair timescales aligned with business goals across the technical team.
- Major contributor supporting Leadership team promoting a tidy, efficient, high standards of workshop organisation and housekeeping.
- Able to identify and implement continuous improvements to processes and/or systems across the group and wider business.
- Accountable for writing new and reviewing/updating existing work instruction guidance.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining technical library of information used to support all test, repair, configuration activity.
- Support Leadership team with creating and setting Goals and Objectives across the technical team.
- Deputise for Supervisory Engineer when required.
Required Expertise/Skillset(s):
- Desirable: Cisco CCST or CCT qualified, working towards or able to work towards CCNA
Required Expertise
- Comprehensive experience of diagnosis, repair, test and configuration to test racks, modules, boards and components on a broad range of highly specialised Broadcast, Networked and Mechanical Products.
- Expert in identifying and leading complex technical investigations.
- Experience of using data and trend analysis to drive Continuous Improvement.
- Experience of working with technical specialists across teams within the business and with suppliers/manufacturers.
- Comprehensive experience using a wide range of Test Equipment including, but not limited to Spectrum Analysers, Network Analysers, Power Meters, Power Sensors & Frequency Counters.
- In depth knowledge of RF principles.
- Complete understanding and able to communicate technical information such as circuit diagrams, equipment manuals and data sheets.
Required Technical / Professional Skillset(s):
- Well-developed problem-solving skills - Demonstrate natural curiosity.
- Able to demonstrate logical thinking and reasoning.
- Comprehensive ability to repair, test and configure complex broadcast transmission assets as part of a wider technical system.
- Extensive experience of reverse engineering testing and repair.
- Able to upgrade/downgrade firmware/software and license options.
- High quality soldering of electronic components and ability to review quality of other team members.
- Detailed knowledge of a wide range of electronic and mechanical components and source/recommend alternatives.
- High level of knowledge of SNMP and it's application within broadcast/networking.
- High level of knowledge of GPS and it's application within broadcast.
- Extensive knowledge of UHF and/or VHF signals, frequency and systems.
- Experience of positively acting in a mentor/training role and track record of developing teams.
