Anduril’s Manufacturing team is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware, including static equipment, moving ground equipment, and flight vehicles. This responsibility includes everything in the manufacturing value-chain, including, but not limited to, Design for Manufacturability work, tool design & selection, process creation & optimization, vendor sourcing & interaction, quality planning, and work documentation associated with the hardware that the Manufacturing Engineer owns with an emphasis on Composite Parts and Assemblies.

The right person for this role can demonstrate past holistic ownership on solving a technical challenge with a creative, physical, solution that they either personally manufactured or oversaw manufacturing on, in a fast-paced, resource-limited environment. *WEEKEND SHIFT - four, ten-hour shifts - Friday through Monday

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Work with technicians and other engineers hands-on, building composite prototype hardware and tooling in close conjunction with design engineering release.
  • Write manufacturing documentation, such as work instructions, quality plans, inspection requirements, non-conformances, while also completing said work instructions, quality plans, and inspections along side a team of technicians.
  • Work as a conduit between the engineering technical data packages and the technicians to ensure composite hardware and tooling are manufactured as designed/analyzed.
  • Ensure smooth status and knowledge transfer between shifts by coordinating among technicians and engineers.
  • Solve manufacturing problems in schedule-driven environment under the constraints of detailed specifications and requirements to achieve the needed quality, delivered on schedule.
  • Provide overall engineering support for a smaller team of technicians with lower onsite management (weekend shift).
  • Assist in engineering projects and equipment deployments during a broad, 5-month expansion and upfit.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technology related field
  • A genuine interest in composite manufacturing and thirst for learning
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following composite manufacturing methods: Out-of-Autoclave Pre-preg processing, Autoclave Pre-preg processing, VARTM, Filament Winding and/or Wet Layups.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including GD&T
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (NX, Solidworks, CATIA)
  • Proficiency in MS Office products
  • Demonstrated in-kind or direct team leadership skills, with backing examples
  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access CUI


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing of composite assemblies
  • Experience with secondary composite and metallic assemblies
  • Experience with supporting 5-axis CNC machining and programming
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, automotive, and/or energetics facilities

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
