SUMMARY: The Program Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects from the RFQ phase, through NPI completion, including sustaining support for production and QA issues. The role requires a strong background in injection molding and machining, along with a good understanding of manufacturing processes. The Program Manager must be able to comprehend engineering drawings, solid models and customer/industry specifications to fully understand customer requirements. Also, the position demands expert communication and time management skills in order to best serve customers and to collaborate with internal departments to achieve cost effective and efficient goals.


RESPONSIBILTIES:

Quoting & Estimating

  • Collaborate with the team to perform business, capability and capacity risk analyses including DFM/DFA and QA analysis.
  • Assist in creative solutions to help customers meet their needs by researching and evaluating technical solutions in materials, and processes to achieve the requirements of the customer.
  • Provide part quotes to customers, taking into account all manufacturing operations such as labor and materials to ensure that product profitability is optimized.
  • Provide customers NRE quotes for tools, fixtures, test runs and APQP reports that may be required for product release, based on the appropriate requirements from the customer or applicable industry standards.

New Product Introduction Processes

  • Work with production departments to establish and optimize manufacturing processes to be utilized for production of finished products as specified by the customer, while meeting cost expectations.
  • Coordinate and evaluate first article inspection, control plans and work instructions for pilot production processes to ensure that optimal processing windows are achieved.
  • Responsible for creating and validating BOM accuracy against quote and actual processing performance.

Manufacturing

  • Attend MRB meetings and assist in non-conforming product disposition, then assist in developing the solution needed for a profitable, proficient and repeatable manufacturing process.
  • Assist in ECN/ECO workflow initiation and responsibilities by coordinating part number revisions, including part modification and material changes.
  • Assist in the analysis and diagnoses of the root cause analysis and assist in developing manufacturing solutions.

Project management

  • Take charge of project planning, with the ability to adapt and modify as situations change.
  • Able to set priorities and be well organized in a fast-paced multifaceted work environment.
  • Utilizes planning and workflow tools as necessary, such as project timelines, Gantt charts, flow charts, costed BOMs, etc…
  • Manage the needs of the customer while keeping Altek’s business goals a priority.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum five (5) years of Program Management experience in manufacturing industries, machining, and injection molding experience, highly desired.
  • Ability to simultaneously navigate and manage multiple programs.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Must have good critical thinking and problems solving skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with many different personality types and skill levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Some experience with ERP systems is very valuable.
  • Working knowledge of Solid Works and other related CAD software(s)
