- Develop P&IDs to support mechanical design and system integration
- Integrate vendor-designed custom equipment into the facility mechanical design
- Review vendor drawings, calculations, and technical submittals for consistency with design intent
- Perform first-order mechanical analysis (stress, thermal, flow, fit-up) as required
- Support installation planning, field fit-up, and commissioning activities
- Maintain organized documentation, revision control, and configuration consistency
- Coordinate closely with Controls, Electrical, and Systems Engineering during design and build-out
- Participate in design reviews, readiness reviews, and system checkout activities
- Typical experience: 0–3 years
- Execute mechanical designs and drawings with guidance from senior engineers
- Support P&ID development, analysis tasks, and documentation development
- Assist with vendor submittal reviews and redline incorporation
- Support installation and commissioning activities in the field
- Demonstrate strong willingness to learn complex mechanical and test systems
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar)
- Ability to produce clear, buildable mechanical drawings
- Familiarity with P&IDs and their use in mechanical system design
- Comfortable working with evolving requirements and incomplete designs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to support hands-on installation and commissioning activities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience supporting rocket engine testing or propulsion test facilities
- Experience in aerospace systems, particularly aerospace testing or ground test environments
- Hands-on work with test stands, ground support equipment, or facility infrastructure
- Experience with pressure systems, piping, and instrumentation in industrial environments
- Background in chemical processing, energy, or other piping- and instrumentation-heavy industries
- Prior involvement in test stand build-out, commissioning, or major facility modifications
- Experience reviewing or integrating vendor-designed custom mechanical equipment
- Familiarity with hypergolic or cryogenic propellant systems
- Exposure to ASME pressure systems, mechanical integrity, or industrial safety standards
- Working knowledge of GD&T
- Exposure to FEA, CFD, or thermal modeling tools
Work Environment:
