Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Data Collection & Management: Assist in gathering primary data through experiments, surveys, or literature reviews. Maintain organized digital databases and physical logs to ensure data integrity.
- Technical Assistance: Operate specialized equipment, software, or laboratory tools under supervision. Set up and calibrate experimental apparatus as required by the project lead.
- Literature Reviews: Conduct comprehensive searches of academic journals and industry reports to provide summaries of current trends and existing findings relevant to the research.
- Documentation: Draft preliminary reports, research summaries, and technical documentation. Assist in the preparation of materials for presentations or publication.
- Collaboration: Participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress, troubleshoot roadblocks, and contribute to brainstorming sessions for future research directions.
Qualifications
- Education: Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student (Junior or Senior standing preferred) in a relevant field such as Engineering, Data Science, Physical Sciences, or Social Sciences.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Basic experience with data analysis tools or programming languages (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, or SQL) is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a high level of curiosity. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while remaining a reliable and proactive member of a collaborative team.

The salary range for this role is:

ITAR Requirement:
This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants must qualify as a U.S. person under the ITAR and the EAR, or a person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction. Please understand that any job offer that requires approval of an export license will be conditional on AeroVironment’s determination that it will be able to obtain an export license in a time frame consistent with AeroVironment’s business requirements. A “U.S. person” according to the ITAR definition is a U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), or protected individual such as a refugee or asylee. See 22 CFR § 120.15. Some positions will require current U.S. Citizenship due to contract requirements.
