Summary
Lead program control/finance support for a ~$40M portfolio of FFP and CPFF contracts, partnering closely with Program Managers to drive cost, schedule, and financial performance. Own forecasting and reporting cadence, including EACs, monthly forecasts, and variance analysis; support PMRs and ensure alignment with program and portfolio targets. Provide on-site, day-to-day financial guidance to program teams in Germantown, MD, enabling proactive decision-making and risk/opportunity management. Monitor contract performance, funding, burn rates, and material spend across projects, including coordination with supply chain to track procurement status, commitments, and cost impacts. Support broader PC activities across the portfolio, including ad hoc analysis, process improvements, and coordination with finance, contracts, operations, and supply chain stakeholders
Position Responsibilities:
- Review and understand contract terms and conditions (multiple contract types to include T&M, FFP, & CPFF) to ensure compliance with financial clauses and deliverable deadlines. Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract experience is required; product experience is a plus.
- Responsible for the set-up and maintenance of billable projects in the accounting system (Unanet ERP).
- Prepare required cost and CDRL reporting (e.g., spend plan, 75% cost incurred status reports, MSRs, etc.).
- Prepare and maintain budgets/forecast models to meet project and AOP requirements.
- Prepare and implement revenue recognition methodology and conduct monthly variance analysis.
- Maintain and track direct material purchases on applicable projects for use in project reporting and stakeholder deliverables.
- Identify and track program risks/opportunities.
- Review and approve direct cost purchase requisitions.
- Track subcontract cost & schedule status, material receipts, and open commitments.
- Identify and process advanced spending/at-risk approvals as needed.
- Work with Accounts Receivables to ensure accurate and timely billing, resolve unbilled issues, and manage aging.
- Interact with customer and AV stakeholders as needed.
Location: On-site in Germantown, MD is preferable.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
- 3 -5 years of experience in program control, project finance, FP&A, or related role (government contracting environment preferred)
- Experience supporting FFP and/or CPFF contracts, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial systems (e.g., Unanet, OneStream, or similar ERP/forecasting tools)
- Ability to partner effectively with program managers and cross-functional teams (finance, contracts, supply chain) in a fast-paced, on-site environment
Physical Demands
- Ability to work equally well in an office environment or in an at-home environment
- Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)
Clearance Level
The salary range for this role is:
$93,000 - $131,775AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
