Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a Financial Reporting Data Scientist with expertise in financial and operational data to design, produce, and ensure the integrity of SOX-controlled financial reports. This role owns the reporting and data validation processes across Oracle Fusion, Workday, and Salesforce, ensuring accuracy, auditability, and compliance throughout reporting and migration activities.

Position Responsibilities

Financial & Accounting Reporting

  • Own and maintain financial reports (GL, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, reconciliations, journals).
  • Ensure reports meet SOX 404 requirements, including documentation, change control, and audit trails.
  • Support internal and external audits with reconciliations and supporting schedules.

Data Integration, Conversion & Validation

  • Design and maintain data pipelines between Oracle Fusion and other enterprise systems.
  • Lead data conversion and validation during Oracle Fusion migrations, ensuring accuracy between legacy and target systems.
  • Reconcile subledgers, ERP modules, and consolidated reporting data.

Governance & Compliance

  • Implement and monitor controls, validations, and exception reporting to support SOX compliance.
  • Partner with IT and Internal Audit to enforce segregation of duties and maintain DOA and access compliance.
  • Maintain documentation of reporting and conversion processes per SOX standards.

Analytics & Insights

  • Build dashboards, KPIs, and predictive models to enhance decision-making.
  • Perform variance analysis, root cause investigation, and scenario modeling.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Drive data governance across Finance, Operations, HR, and Sales.
  • Partner with ERP, HRIS, and CRM teams to automate and standardize reporting across platforms.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Science, or related field; CPA/CIA preferred.
  • 5+ years in financial or operational reporting with SOX exposure and ERP experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion, Workday, and Salesforce.
  • Strong SQL, Python/R, and BI tool skills (Power BI, Tableau, Oracle Analytics).
  • Experience in data conversion, ETL, and validation testing during ERP implementations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication, compliance, and data governance focus.

  • Works well with little or no supervision and exercises independent judgement on a regular basis.
  • Ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or schedules.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, reach, lift (up to 10 lbs.), bend, etc. Hand and wrist dexterity to utilize the computer.
  • May require travel to sites/program and special functions.

Environmental Conditions Critical to Performance

  • Work is in an office environment, climate controlled through central air conditioning/heating.
  • May have some exposure to outside environment while traveling.

The salary range for this role is:

$109,714 - $155,400
