Summary
Sales Operations Analyst III serves as a strategic partner to Sales, Contracts, Proposals, and Finance by driving operational excellence across the sales cycle. This role is responsible for delivering accurate reporting, forecasting, and analytics while ensuring data integrity within the CRM and sales systems. This position will own critical processes such as quoting for new and existing customers, partnering with Accounts Receivable to establish customer accounts. The role also requires strong sales operations experience in managing opportunity pipelines and analyzing orders versus actuals to provide leadership with clear visibility into performance and trends.
Position Responsibilities
Drives and performs data analysis activities for alignment between CRM and finance tools
Develops tools to review and analyze sales and forecasting related data to meet forecasting goals. Identifies efficiency opportunities and inconsistencies as well as techniques and methods for finding solutions
Proactively communicates and coordinates with BD personnel and Business Segment Lead on Opportunity Forecast Data that requires immediate attention based on analysis or notification
Has a thorough understanding of the business needs to drive process improvement
Develops tools to review and analyze sales and forecasting related data to meet forecasting goals. Identifies efficiency opportunities and inconsistencies as well as techniques and methods for finding solutions
Drive the adoption, usage and reliance of AV Salesforce by the BD Team and other Functional Groups
Maintains and audits CRM tool for data integrity. Applies enhancements
Drive and support the continuous improvement of Forecasting accuracy by adherence to processes, responding to notifications and daily coordination with the respective BD/PM owner and Business Segment Leads
Develops and drives streamline data collection processes for Market Segment leads in order to improve operational efficiency within the Business Development organization as a whole
Assists with the development and presentation of executive level presentations, ensuring data is accurate and consistent
Evaluate and approve the appropriate metrics to be used to evaluate sales efficiency and productivity
Works closely with Manager to drive current processes and identify areas for process simplification & improvements to support BD activities and objectives and goals
Works collaboratively with Functional groups as needed in support of BD activities, department objectives and compliance
Has a critical impact on the sales target KPI's and BD team success
Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
Travel to trade shows to assist Business Development (BD) team in customer engagements and meetings to enhance follow-on orders
Builds and maintains strong relationships directly with customers and end-users to ensure their expectations are being met and exceeded
Determines methods and procedures to assignments and may serve as informal team lead
Uses expertise to develop, train and apply process improvement objectives across the department and sales organization
Coordinate and support customer visits, on-site meetings, and executive briefings to ensure a seamless experience for both customers and internal stakeholders.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of CRM and sales-related data (Salesforce)
Up to 20% travel within the Continental U.S. may be required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
Bachelor's degree in related discipline is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
5+ years' relevant sales and/or sales operations experience
Expert level in MS Office applications with demonstrated proficiency working with ERP/CRM tools
Experienced in sales and customer service practices, as well as relevant Sales reporting
Experience in sales and customer service practices and demonstrated skills in sales reporting and analytics

Demonstrates competency in completing tasks in resourceful and effective ways. Suggests sales process improvements

Physical Demands
Ability to sit, stand, stoop, reach, lift (up to 10 lbs.), bend, etc. Hand and wrist dexterity to utilize the computer.
Ability to work in an office environment (Constant)
The salary range for this role is:
$78,986 - $112,035AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
