Job Description
Summary:
The Operations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation and strategic execution of initiatives within MUAS. The Operations Manager serves as the primary point of contact between the Program Manager and all Operations and overseas Supply Chain. This individual will act as a key strategic partner to the Director of Operations with a dotted line to the Vice President of Operations, providing operational support, overseeing critical projects, and driving process improvements across various departments.
Position Responsibilities:
- Management of the Operations portion of the program throughout the program's life cycle.
- Working with Sustaining Engineering and the Program Manager, ensures alignment and understanding of requirements.
- Leads program meetings and program reviews with the operations and general management.
- Oversees critical projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
- In conjunction with Planning and the Factory Managers, establishes, communicates, and reports factory priorities.
- Lead and manage the supply chain team overseeing scheduling, planning, procurement, inventory control, manufacturing engineering, and shipping and receiving.
- Works closely with the Director of Operations to develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals. Assists in setting and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success.
- Identifies potential risks to operational performance and works proactively to mitigate these risks. Develops contingency plans to address issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Identify, analyze, and report on Operations Risks & Opportunities
- Ensure compliance with aerospace industry regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management Engineering, or Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 8+ years of operations experience; aerospace industry experience is desirable
- 3+ years in a people leadership role
- APICS CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) Certification desirable
- Experience developing and executing and managing global operations preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in operations planning, staffing, budgeting, managing multiple priorities and recommending and implementing change
- Leadership and negotiation skills to influence outcomes and resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, operations and supplier management, logistics, quality assurance, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and production and test methods
- Experience managing product quality improvements, cost reduction, and process control initiatives
- Travel may be required to support US and international Operations locations

Physical Demands

The salary range for this role is:
$108,275 - $153,615AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
ITAR Requirement:
This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
