Job Description
Summary
The Tool and Fixture Coordinator III is responsible for providing tool and fixture control in support of manufacturing small unmanned aircraft.
Position Responsibilities
- Ensure all tooling and items requiring calibration are identified and accounted for within and outside of the facility
- Monitor and order Inventory and distribute of hand tools and equipment
- Responsible for the Manufacturing Engineering tool inventory cage
- Perform inspection of tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage
- Review all drawings submitted for release or change to ensure completeness and compliance with company-specific guidelines and industry best practices
- Liaison to the Property Management group
- Respond to audits on the conformance to established practices for all tools and fixtures, document findings, develop and deploy necessary corrective actions
- Ensure and document all new tooling training has taken place
- Develop methods for tool and fixture control; calibration I/A/W manufacturer's recommendations
- Support QA with calibration of the company's tooling, fixtures, and equipment
- Create metrics for the tooling system and maintain version control over all tools and fixtures
- Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations?
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 2 – 4 years of experience as a manufacturing technician or production technician is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Prior use of assembly and test fixtures and ability to read technical drawings
- Strong computer skills are required including proficiency in Excel and Word
- Experience using computerized MRP/ERP systems
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
- Technical related certification is preferred
- Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing tools implementation is desired
- Familiarity with electromechanical manufacturing is desired
- Experience working new product introduction (NPI) is preferred
- Experience in Test and Calibration equipment software and hardware is preferred
- Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge & skills to complete a wide range of tasks
- Strong analytical skills and effective communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
- Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
- Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products
- Is committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the company
- Focuses on teamwork, collaboration and puts the success of the team above one's own interests
Physical Demands
- Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment (Constant)
- Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)
- Frequently lift and/or carry objects of small size between 2lbs and 5lbs
- Frequently required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and balance
- Occasionally required to walk
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
The salary range for this role is:
$26 - $37AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
