Role Overview:

We are seeking a buyer/planner to join the Tightbeam team. This a full-time contract role that has the opportunity to convert to a salaried position at the end of the 6 month contract. The Buyer/Planner will be responsible for the procurement of goods and services for our organization as well as managing demand/supply planning activities. This role includes identifying and evaluating suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of products and services and managing logistics.

This role will require close collaboration with suppliers, warehouse, and production team to ensure the availability of inventory at the right time. This position is a crucial interface between different parts of our organization and requires a professional with a keen sense of organization, strong analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure contract terms are fulfilled.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with current suppliers while seeking new ones.
  • Process purchase orders, manage suppliers, and manage internal communications related to the order life-cycle.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as finance and operations, to manage inventory levels.
  • Coordinate purchasing, planning, and warehousing procedures and operations to meet business needs.
  • Execute and manage the procurement process, including sourcing, purchase order placement, order tracking, and delivery.
  • Maintain and update inventory levels to ensure adequate supply
  • Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, delivery, and cost efficiencies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of strategic sourcing strategies.
  • Execute company-wide inventory planning processes.
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.
  • Work cross-functionally to reduce lead times, minimize stock shortages, and optimize inventory turnover.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in procurement and planning roles.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and inventory management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, or Google Workspace Suite.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • AS9100 vendor qualification experience is desirable
