About this role:
We are looking for a customer-focused service manager to join our Data & Services team. You will lead space data and service delivery to commercial and government customers around the world.
Taking sales inputs from the Business Units, you will be responsible for ensuring that technical teams have a clear understanding of delivery requirements, budget and schedule while liaising with customers to ensure that expectations are met. You will work with the sales team to ensure a seamless transition for the customer from pre- to post-sale engagement, and to facilitate renewals. You will also work with product managers and technical team leaders to ensure that development projects have suitable controls and resource plans in place for timely delivery. You will sustain a calm, focused working environment in a fast-paced business context.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with customer management experience in a complex technical environment with a focus on quality of service. The position offers the opportunity to share your expertise in a fast-growing space technology company that is bringing new data and insights to address challenges in business and government. An understanding of the capabilities and limitation of space systems in creating geospatial data will be an advantage in a team that is deploying the data capacity of innovative satellite constellations developed and operated by AAC Clyde Space.
The role is based in London where hybrid working is available. The nature of the role will require essential, regular business travel (both local and global) plus the occasional ‘out of hours’ work that may be required to support customer and business activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the sales team to ensure a seamless transition for the customer from pre- to post-sale engagement
- Collaborating with the sales team to renew existing customer contracts.
- Work with technical managers to maintain delivery schedules across a portfolio of commercial subscriptions and development projects.
- Ensure that all new orders have a clean handover from the sales team and there is an effective kick-off with each customer.
- Refine and oversee consistent processes for commercial service customer management.
- Strengthen and maintain customer relationships
- Manage external suppliers used in service delivery, placing orders and tracking material costs.
- Schedule and lead customer review meetings.
- Manage small projects for commercial product development with grant support.
- Liaise with finance to ensure timely invoicing.
- Oversee customer helpdesk management for user queries and issues.
- Track and report portfolio-wide KPIs on a weekly basis, working with technical teams to make performance data readily available.
- Respond to customer feedback and escalate concerns where necessary.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and work with product managers to prioritise these.
Skills required:
- Relevant degree or equivalent work experience
- Customer-focused with a sound commercial awareness and demonstrable experience of client management
- Ability to work with and manage resources, stakeholder and customers to address expectations in line with priorities and quality standards
- Prior experience in a context with Earth Observation and/or Geospatial data
- Experience of understanding and applying contractual requirements
- Experience of managing suppliers
- Basic understanding of business finance including revenue recognition and cash flow
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a systems mindset.
- Calm and effective under pressure; resilient in dynamic environments; able to prioritise workload.
- Demonstrates sound judgement and resilience in dynamic, time-constrained environments.
- Maintain accountability for your work while contributing to a supportive and inclusive team culture.
- Proactive and driven to solve problems both independently and collaboratively.

Skills desired:
- Knowledge of project management methodologies.
- GIS software skills.
- Experience working with command line interfaces
- Familiarity with the space industry.
- Previous experience working with small/medium sized companies.
