The System Optimization Engineer drives full-stack optimization of the Vehicle OS across SDV architecture, ensuring high performance and reliability on Linux and RTOS platforms. This role also leads system-level software development with a focus on safety standards and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Drive the end-to-end vehicle OS optimization with expansion downward/upward to platform and application software domains, well understand SDV architecture, middleware pipelines, and performance optimization methodologies.

• Define cross-domain interfaces around SDV operational system for application, middleware, OS kernel, and real-time communication with safety-critical software solutions.

• Full stack knowledge on OS kernel and ML/DL inference optimization as well as middleware and application orchestration by focusing on system-level scheduling trade-offs involving performance, deterministic, reliability, scalability across heterogeneous platforms.

• Lead software development for distributed and heterogeneous systems running on Linux and RTOS platforms, familiarity with both environments is a plus.

• Apply knowledge of ISO 26262/21448/21434 and related safety/security standards to ensure software meets automotive requirements.

• Participate in design and code reviews, contributing to technical analysis, design discussions, and key decision-making processes.

• Engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, code review, and deployment.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support seamless system integration.

• Work effectively with remote teams across multiple countries and time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Effective team player with excellent communication skills, capable of driving cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced and multi-national environment, management experience is a plus.

• Rich experience in vehicle OS or equivalent frameworks used in automotive or robotics software for MPU/MCU architectures.

• Experience developing surrounding middleware and abstraction layers using libraries and tools for auto code generation, test automation, and fault injection.

• Strong programming skills in C/C++/Rust and familiarity with at least one scripting language.

• Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to implementation and long-term maintenance.

• Passionate about transforming ideas from the R&D stage into production-ready products.

Preferred Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience developing production-grade software with at least 3 years in the automotive or relevant domain, relevant management experience is a plus.

• Hands-on experience with heterogeneous systems and communication protocols.

• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD or automated pipeline systems.

• Familiarity with Linux and RTOS build systems.
